On January 5th two caged lions at the Hangzhou Zoo in China were victims of a cruel attack from the visiting tourists who thought it would be fun and entertaining to throw snowballs at the animals.

The lion and lioness huddled together and braced themselves against the barrage of snowballs, having nowhere to retreat. 

China’s zoos have long since been criticized for instances of animal abuse. But, despite past crackdowns, instances of apparent animal cruelty have continued.

One past zoo visitor said:

“The sad thing is, this is way better than what they normally throw. When I went last year people were throwing anything they could get their hands on at the animals. Such as full plastic water bottles, coke cans, also full, rocks, and the worst part is NO ZOO STAFF WAS PRESENT.” [x]

This gets me so livid! If I were there, I would’ve given all those punk bitches face washes and spit on them.
